1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pimpi, Pimpi Card, the Parent Dashboard, or any related websites and services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by StudyStars. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and StudyStars.

2. Description of Service

Pimpi is a family of apps designed to help children ages 6–12 build positive habits:

• Pimpi— a homework companion app where children manage learning activities (“Sparks”), track completion streaks, and capture proof of their work.
• Pimpi Card— a stamp-based rewards app where parents and children track chores, responsibilities, and other activities with collectible stamps.
• Parent Dashboard— a web-based tool for parents to oversee their child’s activity, manage account settings, and review progress.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, a parent or legal guardian must create an account on behalf of their child. By creating an account, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
• You are the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the Service.
• The information you provide is accurate and complete.
• You consent to your child’s use of the Service under your supervision.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

• Use the Service only for its intended purpose—supporting children’s learning and positive habit formation.
• Supervise your child’s use of the Service as appropriate for their age.
• Not attempt to access other users’ data or interfere with the Service’s operation.
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you or your child create within the Service, including Sparks, Lanes, stamps, activity records, and photos. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

By using the Service, you grant StudyStars a limited license to store and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete your account or specific content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is harmful, offensive, illegal, or inappropriate for children.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.

7. Intellectual Property

The Pimpi name, logo, mascot character, and all related branding, design elements, and software are the intellectual property of StudyStars. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any of our intellectual property without prior written permission.

The Service’s user interface, features, and underlying technology are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StudyStars and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in the app’s Settings, or by contacting us directly. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
